1st Summit of the European Community for Integrated Home Renovation Services
The European Union has an objective of achieving a zero-emission building stock by 2050. Such a target is realistic only if, from now on, we boost our renovation rates while aiming for the highest possible energy standards.
But, especially in the residential sector, the market offer for ambitious energy renovations is fragmented and mostly uncoordinated. On the demand side, most homeowners lack the capacity to set-up and supervise complex and ambitious projects. Furthermore, many face obstacles in accessing the necessary up-front financial resources.
One-Stop Shops for home energy renovation are the answer to this challenge. They are offering integrated home renovation services that make the complex renovation process attractive, simple, tailor-made and accessible to all homeowners.
The new Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) both recognise One-Stop Shops for energy renovation of buildings as a major tool for achieving a zero-emission building stock by 2050. Member States will need to roll out one One-Stop Shop for every 80,000 inhabitants or at least one per region and provide advice on energy renovations as well as dedicate services to tackle energy poverty and vulnerable households.
Hundreds of One-Stop Shops are already operating all over Europe. Thousands of organisations support their activities – public authorities, energy agencies, suppliers, homeowner associations, energy auditors, architects, NGOs, financial institutions and others. Today, all these actors are gathering in a new European Community of Practice, named EU Peers, with the objective to strengthen and upscale the Integrated Home Renovation Services movement in Europe.

What are the EU objectives and the actual policy framework in the field of building renovation? Why are one-stop shops relevant tools for achieving a zero-emission building stock? How could one-stop shops for home renovation be supported by EU institutions, EU Member States and other supporting structures?
This is a unique opportunity for you to get to know other members of the EU PEERS Community of Practice
Join one of the proposed collaborative thematic round tables (55 min each) and co-create answers to the challenges of the EU Peers Community members: Co-creating a list of convincing arguments on why a local/regional government should support a one-stop shop for home energy renovation; One size does not fit all: let’s discover the diversity behind each step of the customer journey; Co-creating one-stop shop’s own financing offer: how to make sure banks and OSS speak the same language?; Co-creating an ideal national supportive framework for one-stop shops.
Grab a drink and celebrate with your EU PEERS!
