How to become a member & what it entails
Who can join the Community?
The Community is for all actors who implement or support Integrated Home Renovation Services (IHRS).
Besides the core target group of existing and emerging one-stop shops providing IHRS, the Community welcomes supportive stakeholders like public authorities and energy agencies, stakeholders from the demand and supply side (e.g. service providers, homeowner associations, energy auditors, architects, NGOs), financial institutions and other relevant stakeholders.
The Community welcomes peers from the EU and participating countries in the LIFE programme. If you are not located in this area but would still like to participate, please contact us.
What criteria must be met to become a member?
Membership is free of charge and open to the type of actors described above.
In order to be a useful and constructive space for members, it is important that members work together in a similar direction. Thus, two documents are therefore important when applying:
- The EU Peers Charter describes the mission and values of the Community and needs to be endorsed by new members.
- The EU Peers Survey eventually enables us to get a better picture of the overall Community and thus to give visibility to the impact of the one-stop shops across Europe. Therefor, we ask members to share basic data about their activities on an annual basis (where the data exists and when/where it is appropriate to do so).
What happens after the online application form has been completed?
EU Peers is organised in different Community platforms. The Community manager of the platform to which you are most likely to be affiliated (e.g. the Spanish one, if you’re based in Spain) will contact you after your registration and will be your central point of contact. S/he will check your application and inform you if it was successful or if questions need to be solved.
Also, the Community manager will inform you about next steps (e.g. registration to our Community forum HumHub) and upcoming opportunities in the Community.
Can several people from one organisation apply?
Yes! Several people from one organisation can participate and benefit from the Community.
The EU Peers survey, providing insights into the members’ activities, only needs to be completed one time for the member organisation.
Do members appear on the EU Peers website?
Yes! For more insight into the Community, an overview of the member organisations is currently being developed. It will provide basic information, like name and location. More information about the members’ profile is available for those members who join the Community forum HumHub.
How to access the Community forum 'HumHub'?
The EU Peers Community forum HumHub enables continuous digital interaction between members, in addition to all other opportunities offered.
Access possibilities will be provided by Climate Alliance after registration to the EU Peers Community. A short guide on how to use this kind of intranet is available for members.
Why does EU Peers ask for information about members’ activities?
All EU Peers members are asked to provide insights into their activities related to home energy renovation. We also invite non-members to help us create a representative picture of the one-stop shop landscape in Europe. The survey developed for that purpose aims at collecting, evaluating and disseminating aggregated and anonymised data on members’ efforts in energy renovation to:
- Improve the understanding of IHRS and their impacts,
- Give visibility to IHRS and their results,
- Influence the national and European debate and advocate for a greater recognition and support from public authorities
It is clear that the more organisations contribute, the larger the impact that can be great if each organisation contributes! We invite all members to support these goals by completing the survey.
