What are cities’ challenges and solutions in mobilising public and private expertise and financing? How to facilitate public-private partnerships? What policy and financial support at EU and national levels are needed to achieve the fossil-free city vision?
Learn how to plan and execute the energy retrofit of your public lighting by using Energy Performance Contracting (EPC). Get access to Smart EPC tools and standardized documents that will allow you to: - Evaluate the readiness level of your project. - Make your project more attractive and financially viable by integrating energy and non-energy services ( for example Smart City components, air quality sessions, traffic management, etc.) to your tender process. - Attract ESCO companies to tender for small-scale projects. Discuss with cities, ESCOs, financing institutions and private companies who have successfully implemented EPC projects.
Residential emissions are a major contributor to a city’s GHG emissions. While being a primary domain of intervention, energy retrofit of housing is expensive and pays itself back over a long period. The process is complex, and the market fragmented: it usually consists of many small projects. Which financing and support mechanisms can be put to work? Is aggregation possible?
The recast of the Energy Efficiency Directive requires the municipalities with +45000 inhabitants to develop District Heating and Cooling (DHC) plans. Detoxifying heating in cities is an essential step to achieving net-zero emissions in Europe by 2050. Discover inspiring DHC projects that are getting rid of fossil fuels and switching to renewable energy systems and learn about the existing funding opportunities to not only plan, but also implement decarbonised DHC systems.
