About the initiative

RenoPont is an initiative run by the Hungarian Energy Efficiency Institute, an NGO dedicated to promoting energy efficiency. Established under the EU-funded RENOHUB-H2020 project in November 2019, RenoPont launched its first office and accompanying website in 2021. The initiative serves as a key resource for homeowners seeking energy-efficient renovations in Hungary, particularly in Budapest and parts of the Western region. RenoPont's mission is to bridge the gap between homeowners and renovation professionals by providing consultancy services that guide clients through the renovation process.

RenoPont is primarily financed through awareness-raising activities to gather funds. They currently do not receive any direct government or municipal subsidies for operating the IHRS and do not charge homeowners or renovation professionals for their services. The initiative aims to generate future income through commissions from professionals and banks, and from participating in Energy Efficiency obligation Scheme. Until May 2023, it was supported by the EU but for now, it relies only on its involvement in energy efficiency projects.
