SOS OSS: European cooperation at the heart of Integrated Home Renovation Services
Thanks to their essential contribution to the massification of renovation projects in both the public and residential sectors, Integrated Home Renovation Service Providers, also known as One-Stop Shops (OSS), have a major role to play in the future of European energy policy. As a new European mandate begins, players set out to fulfil the new European legal obligations laid out in the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. This workshop will present how European cooperation can provide large-scale support for local players to implement their Home Renovation Services.
As independent organizations motivated by the public interest, regional energy agencies assist local authorities, economic actors, and citizens in their energy efficiency initiatives and as such, proved instrumental for the development of Integrated Home Renovation Services, as explicitly acknowledged by the European Energy Efficiency Directive.
This workshop will share experiences and instances of best practices from across Europe and provide participants a vade mecum on the creation and development of these services, in the hopes of fostering a supportive community of European players who will be able to match the need for massification of renovations. This European cooperation between players necessary for the development of this innovative service model for energy renovation is in part the result of interactions made within the framework of the EU PEERS project. This workshop will present a variety of tools and levers at the disposal of regional and local players from all over Europe for discussion, including European projects such as EU PEERS, participation in a pan-European network such as FEDARENE, and the use of European mechanisms such as the new social climate fund to support the development of OSS.
